Over the Good Friday weekend, we visited the Jurong Bird Park to spend some family time together and introduce C to more variety of birds as she can generally recognize them now. So for the month of April, I decided on a spring birdy theme for our play dough kit.
We have doughs in matcha green, chamomile yellow and unscented cornflower blue. We assembled some pipe cleaners, craft feathers, googly eyes and figurines of birds from our toy collection for the kit. I made a nest using some leftover brown paper bag from our recycling stash. The matcha dough is made using the same method as our galaxy charcoal dough, replacing the charcoal powder with match powder.
To make a chamomile scented dough, you will need:
1 cup flour
1/4 cup salt
1 tablespoon cream of tartar
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
3/4 cup strong brewed chamomile tea
yellow colouring (optional)
Besides moulding some birds, we also did some print making with the figurines. We have done hand and feet print making previously and C loved it.
Both C and I are enjoying the smells of spring, a light grassy floral scent in our plays.
